Let Jesus Be Your Fixer

ree

Now, you know how in this world we live in, people love to talk about a fixer—that one person who can step in, smooth out the chaos, and patch up a situation like it never happened. They’re the ones with the quick connections, the money, or the influence to make things disappear. Sounds impressive, right? But here’s the truth: no matter how good someone is at fixing things for others, there will come a point when even they can’t fix what’s broken in their own life.

Because, let’s be real—you and I can’t even fix ourselves. Oh, we’ve tried. We’ve rearranged, reorganized, reinvented. We’ve read the self-help books, lit the candles, and even declared, “This time, I’ve got it together.” And then—bam! Life shows up with another round of bills, heartbreak, setbacks, or moments where you’re just sitting there wondering, How did I end up here again? That’s because we weren’t created to be our own fixer. We were created to lean on the One who never fails.

Let me introduce you to my Fixer. His name is Jesus. And He’s not just out here patching things up for a temporary moment of relief. No—He goes deep. He reaches into those broken places, those “I’ll just live with it” cracks in our hearts, and He does what no one else can do. Psalm 138:8 says, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” Did you catch that? He’s not halfway fixing anything. He perfects it. Every part of your life that you’ve been trying to duct tape back together—your relationships, your peace of mind, your health, your finances, your sense of purpose—He already has the blueprint and the tools to make it whole.

Here’s the problem: sometimes we don’t let Him fix it. We try to hold the wrench, the hammer, and the nails. We say, “Okay God, I’ll let You handle this part, but I’ll just keep this one because I think I know better.” And then we wonder why nothing changes. Think of it like when someone with no training tries to fix a car engine. They start unscrewing parts, mixing things up, and by the time they’re done, the car is worse off than before. That’s what we do with our lives when we don’t fully give them to God. But when you hand it over to Jesus—the ultimate Fixer—He doesn’t just make it look good on the outside. He gives it new strength, new purpose, and new life.

And let’s not stop at situations. Because sometimes what needs fixing isn’t the circumstance—it’s us. Our outlook, our patience, our willingness to forgive, our ability to trust again. We cry out for God to fix it, but really, He’s trying to fix us. And can I tell you? That’s a good thing. Because when He fixes you, He gives you joy that can’t be shaken. He gives you peace that doesn’t disappear the moment chaos comes knocking. He pours love into you so deep that it overflows into every corner of your life.

I’m not telling you something I heard. I’m telling you what I know. My God has been the ultimate Fixer in my life. When I couldn’t see a way out, He made one. When my heart was broken, He pieced it back together. When I thought my story was over, He wrote a brand-new chapter. And here’s the best part: He’s not just my Fixer. He can be yours, too.

A Little Tonyelle Truth for the Road:

Stop looking for someone else to fix you, fix your mess, or fix your life. Jesus is the ultimate Fixer—and when you let Him in, He will perfect everything that concerns you.

Let’s Pray About It

Lord, thank You for being the ultimate Fixer in our lives. We confess that we’ve tried to patch things up on our own, but today we hand it all over to You—the broken pieces, the worries, the areas we can’t control. Fix what we cannot fix, heal what we cannot heal, and perfect all that concerns us. Give us joy, peace, and love as only You can. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
