Navigating Life's Trials: Speak to Your Rocks

Updated: Jun 12

Let’s be real for a second — life can be overwhelming. You might be minding your business, sipping your tea, and suddenly, something comes along to throw you off. A test. A trial. A whole mess. If you’re not careful, you might find yourself doubting everything you thought was under control.

The Nature of Our Trials

But here’s what I’m learning: the test isn’t just about what happens around us — it’s about how we respond within.

We all have “rocks” in our lives — situations that feel too hard, too heavy, or too unfair. If we’re honest, some of us stick to hitting these rocks over and over. We react out of frustration, anger, or disappointment. We respond with our words, silence, bad habits, or old patterns.

But that’s not what God told us to do.

The Cost of Reacting

Consider this: In Numbers 20, Moses got frustrated with the people and struck the rock instead of speaking to it. That action came with a cost. He didn’t enter the promised land because of his reaction.

That’s a heavy lesson. Sometimes, we miss our breakthroughs because we act out instead of responding in faith. We’re too focused on the problem instead of saying, “Lord, help me. Show me what I need to learn.”

Finding Our Way Through

Social media often gives us a distorted view. It may seem like everyone else's life is filled with glamour. But behind each highlight reel lies real-life challenges: bills, betrayals, burnout, and unexpected bad news. Yet, there are blessings too. All of these experiences exist side by side.

Your Trials Are Real

The trials you face? They’re real.

Your Emotions Matter

The emotions you feel? They’re valid.

Your Response is Empowering

But how you respond? That’s powerful.

The enemy thrives on our reactions. He wants to keep you triggered, tired, and tapped out. But not today. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Taking Control

It’s time to starve the enemy’s cravings and refuse to give him a seat at your table. Stop allowing your emotions to drive your decisions. Let your prayer life be louder than your panic. Let your faith rise higher than your fears. Most importantly, allow God to do what He does best: bring peace in chaos and purpose out of pain.

Instead of striking the rock, choose to speak to it.

Powerful Declarations

  • Speak healing.

  • Speak growth.

  • Speak peace.

  • Speak restoration.

  • Speak God’s Word over your situation.

The Prayer of Strength

When things get tough — and they will — remember this powerful prayer:

“Lord, help me get through. Show me what needs to shift in me, and lead me to a place where I shall not be moved.”

You are stronger than you feel. You are braver than you think. And you are more grounded than you realize. God is not asking for perfection — He asks for trust.

Embracing Faith

Speak with faith, walk with peace, and observe how your environment changes. Your response to life’s tests can redefine your path. Trust that you do not walk alone. Embrace the journey, and let your spirit soar.

If this spoke to your heart, feel free to share it with a friend or subscribe for more soul-deep encouragement. By doing so, you spread the message of strength and resilience to others who need it. Together, we can face our rocks with faith and peace.
