Be About Our Father’s Business

Let’s talk about it—because we need to.

We have gotten way too comfortable making this life about us. About our dreams. Our plans. Our goals. Our success. But when did we forget that it was never about us to begin with?

We were placed here for a reason, on divine assignment. Not to simply exist, grind, and chase after things that fade, but to walk fully in the purpose that God planted inside of us. Yet, somewhere along the way, we started acting like we were the CEOs of our own existence—as if we had any real control over how long we’re even here.

Let’s be clear: God alone holds the clock. He alone knows when our time on this earth is up. And when that moment comes, all the things we stressed over, built, or tried to control won’t mean a thing. The only thing that will matter is what we did for Him.

We’ve Gotten Off Course

Somewhere, we got distracted. We started focusing on the wrong things.

We hustle hard for the bag but neglect the work God has called us to. We chase validation from people who don’t even know who they are while ignoring the voice of the One who created us. We want to be “in charge” of something when, in reality, there is nothing to be in charge of—because God is in control of everything.

And listen, God is not against us having nice things. He’s not against wealth, success, or ownership. In fact, He often blesses His children with those things. But here’s the difference: Those things should be the overflow of obedience, not the focus of our existence.

Jesus made it plain in Luke 2:49 when He said, “I must be about My Father’s business.” That’s the assignment. That’s the priority.

And right now, in this world, in this time, in this season, we should have no choice but to be about our Father’s business. If we open our eyes and look around, we will see—this is not the time for distraction. This is not the time to sit back, shrink back, or wait until we “feel ready.” The time is now.

Now is the time to seek God with our whole hearts.

Now is the time to walk boldly in our God-given calling.

Now is the time to love without conditions, forgive without hesitation, and serve without expectation.

Now is the time to be about our Father’s business.

Because when it’s all said and done, that’s the only business that will matter.

If today were your last day, what would you want to be remembered for? The titles? The money? The followers? Or the impact?

Would you be known as someone who built their own kingdom or someone who faithfully served in God’s?

Let’s make sure we get it right. Let’s realign our focus. Let’s shift our hearts. Let’s truly be about our Father’s business.

Because at the end of the day, it was never about us—it was always about Him.
