Do Not Fight For—You Are Fighting From

I heard something in church yesterday that stopped me in my tracks. The pastor said, “We’re not fighting for — we’re fighting from.” Whew. Say less. That one line unraveled something in me. Because if I’m honest? I’ve been tired. Not just physically, but tired from always trying to prove, trying to push through, trying to hold it all together. And hearing that reminded me: I’ve been fighting with the wrong posture.
I’ve been living like I’m chasing something that’s already mine.
Let’s be real—life has hands. And it’s been throwing some heavy ones lately. Disappointment. Delays. Detours. People who misunderstood you. Seasons that felt like they had no purpose. But through it all, I had to ask myself: am I fighting from the confidence that God already gave me the victory? Or am I striving like I’m still trying to earn something?
When we fight for something, there’s desperation. We push ourselves to the edge trying to get peace, joy, approval, healing—like it's out there somewhere and we just need to hustle harder to reach it. But when we fight from something? That’s different. That’s peace in the chaos. That’s stillness when everything in you wants to react. That’s trust—even when the outcome doesn’t look how you imagined.
I’m learning to stand firm. I’m learning to stop swinging at everything like I’m losing the battle. Truth is, the battle was never mine to begin with. The victory belongs to the Lord. And all I have to do is walk in it. Not sprint. Not collapse. Just walk, steady and sure, even when my legs feel shaky.
I’ve decided I’m not chasing what’s already been spoken over me. I’m not begging for what God already promised. I’m not going to keep exhausting myself trying to “deserve” what grace has already freely given. I'm standing in it. I'm breathing through it. I'm trusting that what I can’t see yet is still working for my good.
Because the Word says in Exodus 14:14 (NKJV), “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” That’s it. That’s the promise. He’s fighting. I’m holding. And not holding my breath—holding my peace. Peace that doesn’t make sense to others. Peace that can’t be shaken by bad news or long nights or delayed dreams. Peace that’s rooted in the One who’s never lost a battle.
So no, I’m not fighting for peace—I’m fighting from it.
Not fighting for purpose—I’m walking from it.
Not fighting for love—I’m resting in it.
Not fighting for breakthrough—I’m aligned with the One who breaks every chain.
And maybe today, you needed this reminder too. That it’s already done. You’re not behind. You’re not less than. You’re not forgotten. You’re just in the middle of a story that’s already been won. So hold your head up, take a breath, and remember: this fight is fixed. The outcome is already in your favor.
Now go ahead and live like it.
Let’s Pray
God, thank You for the reminder that I don’t have to fight every battle—I just have to stand still and trust You. Your Word says in Exodus 14:14 that “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And Lord, that’s what I’m choosing to do today. I’m choosing to hold my peace while You handle what’s beyond me. I don’t need to strive, stress, or stretch myself thin trying to fix it all. You’ve already gone before me.
Help me walk in that confidence—not the kind that comes from what I see, but the kind that comes from who You are. Quiet the lies that tell me I’m losing, and remind me that I’m standing in victory—even if I don’t feel it yet. When I’m tempted to panic, help me pause. When I’m tempted to fight in my flesh, help me fall back into faith.
I trust You, God. You’re fighting for me, and my only job is to stay in position and hold onto my peace. Let that peace guard my heart, still my thoughts, and anchor my soul. I don’t fight for victory—I fight from it. Thank You for already working things out on my behalf.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

AWESOME Observation; It's just amazing to me the deeper revelation and understanding that you received just by hearing the Word of God, that simple, yet powerful Kingdom Principle of "For" vs "From". Stay tune more to come....
