Fear Doesn’t Live Here Anymore: Rooted in Faith, Rising in Boldness

Fear. That five-letter word has a way of sneaking in, unpacking its bags, and making itself a little too comfortable in our lives. You know how it goes: it starts as a whisper—“You can’t do that.” Then it grows into a roar—“What if you fail? What if you lose? What if you’re not enough?” Before you know it, fear is sitting in the driver’s seat, steering your life straight into doubt, paralysis, and frustration.

But let me tell you something, beautiful soul: fear doesn’t have to live here anymore.

I heard a song this morning that flipped the script on fear, and it lit a fire in my heart. It reminded me of a powerful truth: we are more than fear. It doesn’t matter how tightly fear tries to grip you; it doesn’t matter how loud it shouts or how long it’s been squatting in your mind. You have the power to rise up, evict that fear, and step into the fullness of who you’re meant to be.

Fear is sneaky—it doesn’t just take up space; it drains the very essence of life. It suffocates your joy, your peace, your purpose, and your boldness. It convinces you to settle for less, to shrink back, and to doubt everything you’re capable of. But here’s the good news: fear may be persistent, but it’s not permanent.

Scripture tells us: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Did you catch that? Fear is not your portion. Power, love, and a sound mind—that’s the inheritance you’ve been given as a child of the Most High.

So how do we rise out of fear and stay free from it? We root ourselves in Christ. Imagine planting a tree—its roots dig deep into the soil, holding firm through the storms. That’s what we need to do. Root yourself in the promises of God, in His love, His Word, and His truth. When you’re planted in Him, fear has no room to grow.

Here’s a simple truth: fear thrives where faith is weak. But when you water your soul with faith—prayer, Scripture, worship—fear shrivels up and fades away. Let me remind you of another promise: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” (1 John 4:18) God’s love is perfect, unshakable, and fierce. When you embrace that love, fear loses its grip.

With this new season—this “changing of the guard”—it’s time to dig our feet in deep. Declare today that fear doesn’t get to drive anymore. It doesn’t get to set the rules. You are a child of God, and in Him, there is no fear. When fear tries to creep back in (because it will), stand firm. Speak truth over yourself:

I am strong because He is strong.I am fearless because He is with me.I am capable because He has called me.

Every time fear rises, let your faith rise higher.

Let’s do this together. Take a moment right now to breathe in His peace. Say out loud, “Fear doesn’t live here anymore.” Speak it over your life, your family, your dreams, and your future. Then, walk boldly into this day, knowing that you are more than fear.

You’ve got this because He’s got you.

And fear? Well, it just lost its lease.
