I Am Still Here Waiting on You

Whew… let me just be real with y’all for a second. These past few months? A whirlwind. My schedule has been so out of whack that even my dog, Bella, is looking at me sideways like, “Um, ma’am, what happened to us working from home together? Now you’re out the door again like a stranger?” And I can’t even be mad at her—she’s right. My body is over here whispering, “Sis, it’s time to listen to me before I make you sit down,” and my calendar has been treating me like a revolving door. Bills used to come every thirty days, now they seem to stroll through daily just to say hello.
And yet—hear me when I say this—I am content. I’m happy. Because deep down, I believe it won’t always be like this. Seasons change, and so do we. But that’s not even why I’m writing today.
I wanted to pause, sit quietly with my thoughts, and just let you know: I’m still here.
I may have been silent for a minute, but silence doesn’t mean absence. And how many of us know that’s exactly what Jesus is saying to us right now? In the middle of our hustle and bustle, in between punching that 9-to-5 clock or running your business trying to make a dollar stretch into two—He is whispering, “I’m still here, waiting on you.”
He hasn’t left you. He hasn’t overlooked your stress, your exhaustion, or even those silent prayers you barely had the energy to speak. He sees your effort and your weariness. He sees you juggling responsibilities, trying to keep everything from falling apart. And still, He waits with patience and love, saying, “I’m not going anywhere.”
Sometimes we get so busy doing life that we forget who gives us life. We forget that the One who provides peace is patiently waiting while we run ourselves ragged. We treat our quiet time with Him like leftovers—if there’s any time left after work, bills, family, chores. But can I gently remind you? He doesn’t want the scraps of our day. He wants the first part. He wants to refresh you, not drain you further.
And let’s be real—don’t we all need that refreshing right now? Our spirits are thirsty. Our bodies are crying out. Our souls are begging for rest. And the only One who can truly meet us in all those places at once is the One who says, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
I’m learning to lean into that, even when my to-do list laughs at me. Even when my body feels tired and my dog misses me being home. Even when the bills pile up like junk mail. I remind myself of this truth: it won’t always be like this. But until it changes, I can’t forget that Jesus is still here, waiting on me.
And friend, He’s waiting on you too.
So here’s my encouragement for you today: in all of your busyness, in all of your responsibilities, take time for Him. And just as important, take time for yourself. Step away from the chaos, even if it’s just for a few minutes, and be still. That stillness isn’t wasted—it’s where strength and peace meet you.
If my silence this past month has taught me anything, it’s this: silence can actually be sacred. Sometimes it’s in the quiet that we hear Him the loudest.
So if you’ve been busy, worn, or feeling stretched thin, remember this truth I’m holding on to with both hands—I am still here waiting on you.
And so is He.
A little Tonyelle truth for the road:
Silence is not absence. Just because it feels quiet doesn’t mean God is gone—sometimes it’s in the quiet that His presence is the loudest.
Let’s Pray About It
Lord, thank You for being steady in a world that feels so unsteady. Thank You for reminding us that even in our silence, even in our busyness, You are still here waiting on us. Help us to pause long enough to sit with You, to breathe deeply in Your presence, and to find refreshment for our souls. Teach us to remember that life’s hustle is temporary, but Your love is eternal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If this spoke to your heart, share it with a friend or subscribe for more soul-deep encouragement.
