It Is Well (And It Will Be)

Hey beautiful soul, come on and settle in with me for a bit. Take a deep breath. Let it out slow. I mean really let your shoulders drop, unclench your jaw, and just be for a minute.

Because life… whew. Let’s be real—it can feel like one big swirl of highs and lows, with joy and heartbreak sometimes tangled up in the very same day. One moment it’s all smiles, bills paid, the kids are good, love feels steady, work’s flowing—then outta nowhere, it flips. Loss hits. Struggles come knocking. Bills start piling up. That peace you thought you had starts feeling paper thin.

I’ve had plenty of those days. Mornings where I wake up feeling hopeful, only for something to come through and just gut-punch that peace right outta me. It’s in those moments I’ve had to stop everything—sometimes literally stop in the middle of brushing my teeth—and speak straight to my own soul: “It is well. And it will be well.”

Not because I’m ignoring what’s happening. Not because everything magically fixed itself. But because deep down, I know Who’s still in control.

There’s this scripture that’s been living in my heart lately. 2 Kings 4:26 (NKJV):

“Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ And she answered, ‘It is well.’”

Now let me break this down real plain. The woman who said “It is well” had just lost her son. Her promise—her joy—had died in her arms. And yet, when asked if it was well, her spirit rose up above her circumstances and she declared, “It is well.”

That’s a different level of faith. That’s trusting God so deeply that even in your pain, even in your confusion, you can still say, “Lord, I don’t understand this, but I trust You. It is well.”

See, this life is never promised to be smooth. Jesus Himself said in John 16:33 that “in this world you will have trouble.” But He also said, “Take heart! I have overcome the world.” So yes, stuff will come at you—loss, struggles, financial hits, moments that break your heart clean in two—but it is still well.

Why? Because God hasn’t changed. His goodness hasn’t expired. His promises aren’t on pause.

It is well because He’s still with you in the thick of it.

It is well because He’s still holding your heart when it’s fragile.

It is well because His plans for you are still intact, even if they don’t look like you pictured.

It is well because He sees the end from the beginning, and He’s working all of this—yes, even this—together for your good.

So if today feels heavy, if you’re fighting tears or exhaustion or both, I want you to do something with me. Lay your hand on your chest, close your eyes for just a second, and whisper it: “It is well. And it will be well.”

Let that soak in. Speak it over your home, your bank account, your relationships, your health, your future. Because there is power in declaring it, even before you see it.

I don’t know every detail of what you’re walking through, but I do know this: God’s not done. Your story isn’t over. There’s new coming—new strength, new doors, new joy, new perspective. This 8-minute pause you took? It’s not just another feel-good moment. It’s a stake in the ground, a gentle turning point where your heart gets to remember: It is well. It will be well.

So keep breathing. Keep trusting. Keep getting back up. Laugh when you can, rest when you need to, and hold this truth tight in your hands. Because better is ahead. And you’re not alone—God’s walking every step with you, and I’m right here rooting for you too.

Let’s Pray About It:

God, thank You for being my peace in the middle of the storm. Even when things don’t make sense, even when my heart is heavy, I choose to trust You. I declare right now that it is well, not because everything looks perfect, but because I know You are faithful. Help me remember that You’re working behind the scenes even when I can’t see it. Strengthen me for the days ahead. Renew my hope. Restore my joy. Remind me that I am never alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If this wrapped around your heart today, go ahead and share it with someone who might need it, or subscribe so you never miss more soul-deep encouragement.

Let’s walk this thing out—together. One new beginning at a time.
