Be Still. Be Patient. Be Anchored.

Listen… this one right here sat me all the way down.

Not in a heavy, overwhelmed kind of way—but in that gentle, “okay Lord, I hear You” kind of way.

Because sometimes life gets loud. Not just with noise, but with people, situations, opinions, distractions… all of it pulling at your attention like a toddler in a candy aisle. And before you know it, you’re tired—not because of your own journey—but because you’ve been watching everybody else’s.

And this morning, I was reminded of something that lifted that weight right off my shoulders.

The Lord is already in rooms I haven’t even entered yet.

Whew.

Let that sit for a second.

He’s already there… going before me, handling things I haven’t even seen yet, working things out, shifting things, preparing spaces, fighting battles… all before I even walk in.

So tell me this—why am I over here stressed, distracted, and side-eyeing situations that don’t even belong to me?

Why are we doing that?

That’s where those three simple reminders come in:

Be still.

Be patient.

Be anchored.

Not because life is always calm—but because God is always in control.

There’s a scripture that wraps this up so beautifully:

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Exodus 14:14

Hold your peace.

Not chase answers.

Not monitor everything.

Not insert yourself where you weren’t assigned.

Just… hold your peace.

And if we’re being real (because you know we keep it real over here), sometimes the hardest thing to do is mind your own path. Not because you don’t have one—but because distractions look so tempting. They call your name. They pull your focus. They make you feel like you need to be involved, informed, or even concerned.

But let me say this with love…

Everything you see is not your assignment.

That situation? Not yours.

That mess? Not yours.

That conversation? Not yours.

And the moment you stop “rubbernecking” (yes, we’re calling it what it is) and turn your focus back where it belongs—on God—you’ll feel that shift immediately.

That weight you’ve been carrying?

It was never yours to hold.

You were just looking too long.

When you get anchored—truly anchored—you stop drifting into places that drain you. You stop reacting to everything. You stop picking up what God never handed you.

Instead, you stand firm.

Grounded.

Covered.

Clear.

There’s another reminder that settles this deep in your spirit:

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You…” — Isaiah 26:3

See that?

Peace doesn’t come from knowing everything.

It comes from focusing on the right thing.

So today, let’s do something different.

Let’s release the need to watch everything.

Let’s release the urge to figure everything out.

Let’s release the habit of carrying what doesn’t belong to us.

And let’s step into this posture:

Be still… even when life is moving fast.

Be patient… even when answers feel delayed.

Be anchored… even when everything around you feels uncertain.

Because God is already ahead of you.

Already working.

Already fighting.

Already preparing.

And you?

You just need to stay in your lane, stay in your peace, and stay focused on Him.

Now that right there… will lift a whole lot off of you.

A little Tonyelle truth for the road:

If it’s not your assignment, it’s not your responsibility. Let it go, refocus, and trust that God is handling what you cannot see.

Let’s Pray About It:

Lord, thank You for going before me. Thank You for being in rooms I haven’t even entered yet, preparing, protecting, and covering me. Help me to be still when I feel overwhelmed, patient when I don’t understand, and anchored when distractions try to pull me away. Teach me to release what is not mine and to stay focused on the path You have set before me. I trust You to handle what I cannot see. In Jesus’ name, amen.
