Let the Son Shine: A Heartfelt Reflection

There I was, stretched out in a yoga pose, my face resting towards the mat but angled ever so slightly toward the huge glass doors of the studio. The sun poured through, warm and unrelenting, caressing my skin as if it were on a mission to reach my soul. And in that quiet stillness, a voice spoke—not loud, but unmistakable.
"My child, let today be the day you let the Son shine in your life. Give Him permission to illuminate everything that concerns you. Just as you step into this space and allow yourself to let go of all that exists outside these walls, give Me permission to become present in your life."
Those words echoed deep within me, bringing clarity to something I hadn’t realized I’d been holding back. How often do we hold on to our own control, convincing ourselves that we can juggle it all? How often do we keep God waiting outside the doors of our lives, thinking we’ll let Him in once we’ve “figured it out” or “gotten through” this season?
I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but hear me when I say: stop waiting. Stop pretending you’ve got it all handled. Stop pushing God into the wings while you stand center stage, trying to carry the weight of the world.
There’s a peace in surrender. Just like you roll out your yoga mat and commit to leaving all your distractions outside the room, roll out your heart and let God in. Let the Son shine on the parts of your life that feel heavy, dark, or out of reach. Give Him the permission He’s patiently waiting for.
I felt that sunbeam on my face as a reminder—not just of warmth and light, but of God’s readiness to step in, renew, and restore. Just as the sun faithfully rises every day, God’s presence is faithful and constant. We only need to acknowledge it.
So today, I invite you to pause. Take a moment, a breath, a prayer. Let the Son shine into every corner of your life. Let Him into the chaos, the mundane, the joy, and the pain. Give Him permission to meet you where you are and transform it into something radiant.
Lord, thank You for Your ever-present light and love. Today, I give You permission to shine into every area of my life. Illuminate my doubts, my fears, and my dreams. Help me to let go of the things I cannot control and rest in Your perfect plan. May Your warmth bring comfort, and Your light bring clarity. I trust You, Lord, with all that I am. Shine brightly in my life today and always. Amen.
Because just like the sun on your face, His presence is not just light—it’s life.
